After The Fall by Carissa Lusk
Series: I think this is a standalone…not sure. No mention of a series on Goodreads.
Book #: N/A
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance,
My Rating: 4 hearts
Cover Rating: 2/5 stars
Synopsis:
Amity cries out into the darkness that surrounds her, hoping for a solitary voice to provide direction; she hears two.
Amity knows she loves Alexander, yet the loneliness brought on by the miles that separate them can only be curbed by the cryptic affection of Marcus Riley. She can’t understand the strange familiarity she finds in the wild blue of Marcus’s eyes, but she will soon learn his secret.
Plagued with dreams and memories of lives beyond her own, a tragic fate will emerge from the ashes of a love scorned. Eventually, she will discover the dark truth that will leave her running for her life, and she will learn who sacrificed everything to save it.
My Thoughts:
This was a well written paranormal romance, more emphasis on the romance, read.
Amity is a college student who loves her boyfriend deeply. They’ve known each other since high school and it was a love-at-first-sight kinda thing. Now they’re separated and she’s not dealing with it very well. There were some aspects of Amity’s character I liked, but she was a little overly sensitive to me. It kind of felt like she was living her whole life through a daydream, if that makes any sense.
She meets a guy, Marcus, at her college and is intsantly drawn to him, just like she was with her boyfriend, Alex. She feels a ton of guilt for even thinking about him, but she can’t really help it, the attraction/infatuation is there.
Not a whole lot happens for, I’d say, the first half of the book, but it still holds your attention. When you finally start learning about the paranormal aspect of it, it picks up.
Overall, it was a very well-written, quick and fun read, and I’d recommend to anyone who loves a good paranormal romance.
