True Sight
Series: Tales of Eventyr
Book #: 1
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling
My Rating: 5 juicy hearts
Cover Rating: 5/5 stars
Synopsis:
Grand Sorcerer Rothe has been banished. Forced into hiding by the King over a simple mistake twenty years ago. He’s found a way to make it right. Now all he needs is one last ingredient. He’ll have to face a creature of legend to get it.
Can he make his happily ever after? Or will he be just another once upon a time?
My Thoughts:
I loved this story!! It’s a short story, only about 22 pages, but it was really, really good. It’s a Snow White retelling (I love me some fairy tale retellings!) and I loved the authors take on the classic story. I’m amazed to have been completely immersed into this fantastic world in such a short story…that is all down to the author’s writing. To be able to convey a complete world and magic system in a short story is phenomenal.
I won’t give anything away, storywise, because that would ruin it. But I can say I wanted this to be a full size novel. I wanted more, I didn’t want it to end. I want more background on Rothe…please! Seeing as how this is a series, I’m guessing there will be more stories to come. One can hope!!
In any case, if you love fantasy and/or fairy tale retellings, pick this up for a really awesome, quick read. It’s only .99c on Amazon and free if you are subscribed to Kindle Unlimited.
